CD will not eject

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been around...lot going on. Anyway, I have a CD stuck in the player that will not eject. When I hit the eject button, it makes clicking and spinning sound. That stops after a few seconds, the radio comes back on, and I get "Check CD" on the display. I read that is a tracking/focusing error. I just want the CD back!! Any solutions/suggestions?? Thanks guys & gals and good to see you all again.

Mine did exactley the same thing!! It you keep clicking like it's trying to eject and say check cd or disk. This happened right after I got my 2004 and it was the previous owners cd. Haha. Anyway it was covered under warrenty but they couldn't fix it. It was cheaper to buy a new stereo since the dealer said "since we can't get this problem fixed, if you buy a stereo, we won't charge you the $350 installation and parts cost. See if they'll install it free.

Me, too..

This happened to me one week after buying a "Certified Used" 2004 last year. I was able to get the CD out by sticking thin tools in and supporting the edges while hitting "eject." It wasn't easy, and I can't tell you exactly the process, but I was able to get it out by "worrying" it around.
GM refused to warranty the radio, though. No explanation. It wasn't because I had recovered the CD, and the dealer didn't care that I had removed it manually. Real nice customer support!! "More than just a warranty extension !" "Feel at ease with GMs Certified Used programmm..!" What a crock! They eventually "bent over backwards and offered to pay half of the $500 repair cost. The warranty has no exclusions other than tires or damage. I asked them to show me where stereos or something were excluded in the warranty, and the lady said " well, I don't know where it says that, but our decision is final."
No wonder these compainies fail!!

$350 - $500?? Yeah, right!! I'll buy another receiver (cheaper) and install it myself, take apart the factory receiver (maybe with a hammer ) and get the disc back before I pay that to a dealer!
To me it's not a big deal, except it is Slipknot in there..good thing the songs are on my son's ipod! He does like some other discs I have, though.

Supposedly this happens when using low quality CDs, CDs with printed labels and possibly LightScribe ones.
My CD is also stuck, it plays and everything, but I can't take it out. My roommate says the same thing happened several times in his Aurora and it's not a difficult fix, supposedly it's just taking out the head unit and then manually ejecting or removing the CD
Here's another post

I might try it this weekend.

Was yours making the clicking noise? or simply not ejecting?

I haven't tried the fuse thing, but I will if I get around to it this weekend. With mine, when you hit the CD button on the radio to play it, the AM/FM station goes off, the CD player makes clicking and spinning sounds for a few seconds, then "Check CD" comes up on the display and the radio begins playing again.
Otherwise, I guess I'll be pulling the radio.
